Transfer Window Live – News And Rumours – Day 25

It’s day 25 of the transfer window and iDONSABI discusses transfer stories linking Wilfred Zaha to Dortmund and Morata’s to Atletico Madrid. Let’s get down to the talking points.

Wilfred Zaha Wanted By Borussia Dortmund

German giants are reportedly interested in a Wilfred Zaha move according to The Mirror. The talented winger has sparked interest by several top European clubs and even Chinese giants for his spectacular displays for the Eagles.

Chief among the interested clubs is Borussia Dortmund who see him as a possible replacement for Christian Pulisic who’s on his way to the Stamford Bridge at the end of the season having signed a deal with Chelsea this transfer window.

The Bundesliga giants are reported to be ready to break the club’s transfer record to sign the Ivorian. They are understood to have made contacts with the player and his representatives to see the possibility of a deal.

According to the Guardian, although, the Ivorian just recently signed a contract which would see him earn £130,000 a week and see him remain at the Selhurst park till the year 2023, he would be open to a move to a top Bundesliga club which could see him play in the Hallowed Champions League.

That said, the Ivorian has been unable to replicate his form last season. He has managed just two goals and three assists this term. Even so, he still draws a lot of fouls in and out of the box and poses a real attacking threat for the Eagles.

Nevertheless, Crystal Palace will be willing to sell the player if a bid in excess of £50m is made for the player.

With Dortmund record transfer at £30 million – one they paid for Andre Schurrle in 2016 – they would have to break the bank in order to sign the Ivorian.

Whether Crystal Palace will be willing to let off the Ivorian considering the unavailability of strikers – with Christian Benteke injured – and waning interest in signing rumoured transfer links – Cenk Tosun and Shinji Okazaki – is what remains unclear.
