UNIOSUN Students in Violent Protest on the Streets of Osogbo

The students of the state-owned tertiary institution on Wednesday embarked on protest over the recent incessant cases of missing students of the institution. The students who were dressed in black shirts and trousers blocked the major roads in the state capital, set up bonfires and vandalized properties. More so, they were said to have attacked newsmen who tried to take photographs at the NUJ secretariat in Fagbewesa.

Earlier in the week, the Osun State Police Command had paraded 3 suspects, Sakariyahu Abdulrafiu(19), and two of his friends, Ayuba Ibrahim, (24), and Yusuf Kareem (18), linked to the kidnap and murder of a 400-level Microbiology student at the UNIOSUN for ritual purpose.

However, students of the institution are aggrieved over the cases of multiple deaths, in so many instances linked to ritual killings that have plagued their colleagues in recent times.
