According to a report by Daily Record, Wan Bissaka will be making a move to Old Trafford for £55million, a world record fee for a specialist fullback.

Having rejected a lot of offers from Manchester United, Crystal Palace have now agreed a lump sum of £55million for the English U-21 who completed his second season of Premier League football last season surpasses the €57.5m Manchester City paid AS Monaco for Benjamin Mendy two summers ago.

In preparation for his first season as permanent manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has prioritized the signing of a right back added to a defence which shipped in 54 league goals in 38 appearances last term, United’s worst conceded goals tally in 40 years.

In fact, only basement clubs and relegated duo of Huddersfield and Fulham kept fewer clean sheets than the red devils with Manchester United’s last under Norwegian gaffer, Solskjaer clean sheet coming as far back as February some 15 matches ago.

Wan Bissaka who went through the ranks of Palace academy made his senior debut in February, 2018 rapidly establishing himself as first-choice right back.

Quick, aggressive and athletic, Wan Bissaka made 38 appearances last term with four assists to his name. However, for all his attacking threats, the 21 year old is yet to register a goal for the Eagles.

Wan Bissaka isn’t the most defender this summer transfer window with Bayern Munich paying a hefty sum for Atletico Madrid’s Lucas Hernandez.
