We Are Solidly Behind Atiku, Judiciary Won’t Be Bias – MNG

  • Group calls on INEC chair to redeem his image.
  • Believes that Judiciary will be unbiased in the presidential election tribunal case.

A group identified as Movement for Nigerian Greatness (MNG) has said its confidence in the judiciary remains unshaken as it will be neutral in the petition brought before it by the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the party challenging the outcome of the 2019 presidential election.

In a statement released by its National President and Vice President, Collins Oniobo and Chukwuma Odikaesieme respectively, the group said it is solidly behind Abubakar and the PDP.

While stating that it remains and believed that the Judiciary will redeem its image and act as the last hope of the common man by ensuring Atiku and the PDP are not denied justice, MNG therefore implore the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) not to tamper with the case at the Presidential election petition tribunal.

“The government of the day has a duty to protect the integrity of the Judiciary by ensuring that none of its officials, party members or supporters influences the adjudication process.

“In the same vein, the judiciary must not allow itself, as an arm of government, to be used or cajoled into delivering a judgement that will not favour the interest of the majority of Nigerians. In this instance, the interest of Nigerians is that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar be declared winner of the February Presidential election.”

The group also urged the National Chairman of INEC to redeem his image and that of the Commission by being truthful, nonpartisan and should provide all necessary piece of information to the tribunal.

“Our Country is in a state of comatose. We must bring back the glory of Nigeria. Look at the level of insecurity, joblessness and decadence of public institutions. We don’t need a leader with only socialist ideology. At this time of our national life, we need capitalists who will put in their resources to move this country forward” it added.
