West Ham and Tottenham fans in serious fracas INSIDE Stadium

The famous “London rivalry” between two london clubs was displayed again on wednesday night in the Carabao Cup as West Ham and Tottenham fans engaged in a fracas inside the london stadium. These two clubs have had similar confrontations in the past. Beginning from West Ham ’s 1-0 win over Spurs in 2017 which effectively stopped Tottenham’s to title march, things have escalated quickly between the two sides.

West Ham fans were then filmed celebrating outside the ground, after refusing to disperse, in an effort to rub it in the faces of angry Tottenham supporters.

Tensions were also high during Tottenham ’s 1-0 Premier League win at the London Stadium earlier this month. West Ham fans, thinking their team have scored a goal, caused a minor disruption after they set off a flare, which caused smoke to engulf parts of the pitch.

Tottenham fans then mocked the incident after the match after Erik Lamela’s goal was enough to earn them all three points.

About 50+ stewards were called into action on Wednsaday night after fans clashed, 60 minutes into the match. This happened after Son Heung-Min scored to double Tottenham’s lead. Thankfully, the stewards were able to diffuse things early.

The English Football Association frowns at these kind of incidents and are set to clamp down on both clubs. Punishments could be mild or even severe depending on the scale of the incident. Sanctions could range from fines to complete stadium closure to fans.

Lucas Perez scored a goal to console the West Ham fans but Llorente scored Tottenham’s third goal to book their place in the quater finals.

Tottenham will now face another fierce North London rival, Arsenal in the next round.
