Who Picks Up The Premier League Golden Boot

The Premier League title goes down to the wire and Liverpool fans who witnessed the comeback against Barcelona are still hopeful that Brighton could do them a favour and claim a win against Manchester City.

While fans of the Merseyside club will have their eyes affixed to the ongoing events at Anfield and Amex Stadium – with the results determinants of who lifts the Premier League crown – another interesting race ends. Who lifts the Premier League Golden boot?

Last season’s high scoring forwards Kane and Mo. Salah had an interesting haul of goal with the latter claiming the winner with a record 32 goals in 38 games but the goals are a bit shared around this term.

iDONSABI.com takes a look at the Premier league goal scorers who theoretically have a chance of claiming the boot.

Mohammed Salah (22 goals)

The Egyptian goalscorer who was out of the game against Barcelona because of the concussion he suffered in his side’s game against Newcastle United will be handed another chance to cement his position as the Premier League’s top scorer this term against a ferocious Wolves team looking to maintain a seventh-placed finish.

A goal or two for Salah could ultimately mean he claims the title for the second consecutive season after the likes of Robin van Persie (2011/12-2012/13) and Kane (2015/16-2016/17).

Sergio Aguero (20 goals)

Aguero has a chance to claim the boot and clinch the title as well on the same day.

The Argentinian will be faced with Brighton who have had nine losses on the bounce and will be buoyed by the prospect of notching a brace or hatrick the clinch the award.

Aguero is on 20 goals at the moment, two behind Salah and would see this as an opportunity to claim the award for only the second time in his long stay in England.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (20 goals)

Aubameyang has netted 29 goals in all competitions with 20 of them in England’s top-flight.

The Gabonese coming from an incredible form that saw him net a hattrick in his Europa league game last week can fancy a chase down on Salah in an away game against Burnley.

Sadio Mane (20 goals)

The Senegalese has been phenomenal this campaign with the season being his most fruitful in front of goal.

That said, Mane would favour a title win over his personal peose against Wolves.

Jamie Vardy (18 goals)

Vardy has been incredible at the King Power Stadium and would be looking to chase down the boot even though that might seem unlikely going against Sarri’s Chelsea.
