‘Who’ll Allow Them Enter ?’, Fisayo Soyombo Reacts to Reps Plan Probe of Prisons
Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo has reacted to the move by the House of Reps committee’s plan to embark on a tour of the correctional centers across the country.
The lower chamber had announced that it will investigate reports of violation of human rights and infrastructural decay in Nigerian prisons on Monday.
Anayo Edwin, chairman, house committee on reformatory institutions, had during an interview with journalists called for the implementation of the Nigeria Correctional Service act which seeks better welfare for inmates.
Soyombo had done an investigative report on how “drug abuse, sodomy, bribery, pimping and cash and carry operations” plague Ikoyi prison.
Reacting via his Twitter page, Soyombo wrote: “The reps committee wants to “embark on a tour of all the correctional centres nationwide”
