“Why I Told My Parent To Choose How They Wish To Die” – Bisi Alimi

Nigerian gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi wrote on his Facebook page the reason he called his parents to tell them to choose how they wish to die.

With the Coronavirus pandemic, every one has been advised to stay home if they have nothing to do outside. However, when he called his parents last night, he was told his dad who is 80 wasn’t  home.

He wrote;

Last night I called my parents and say something a child shouldn’t say. I told them they can choose how they wish to die, alone in isolation or with their children around them.

“When I called, my dad was out and I was upset. He is over 70 and my mim 70. When he got back, I told them of the situation in Europe and that was when it became clear to me that social media is a bubble. There are many Nigerians (majority) who still think this is a fluke though they are equally scared.”

He advised them that they have a choice to stay in isolation to avoid contracting Coronavirus instead of leaving their doors open and going out.

He also added that the “message applies to everyone most especially my Nigerian friends. I know it is hard and it is going to be challenging but please stay at home.”
