Wike’s Behaviour on Carverton Helicopters Is A Symptom of Secession – Shehu Sani

A member of the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has criticised governors denying Nigerian citizens rights of passage to their states.

Sani, who is another critic of the ruling government took to his Twitter page, saying no state had the right to deny any Nigerian access despite the Coronavirus pandemic.

While describing the move by the governor as symptoms of ‘secession’, he said he was told the same thing by some groups planning to secede from Nigeria.

Presently, Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wife, and the federal government are not on good terms. This was because the governor arrested pilots of Carverton Helicopters and shut down their operations over the suspicious operation in the state.

Wike had on Wednesday through statewide broadcast ordered the local government council chairmen to close the offices of Carverton Helicopters across the state.

According to the Governor, the move was in order to protect the residents of the state against Coronavirus. Rivers currently has two cases of the dreaded virus.

Reacting to the arrest of Carverton Helicopter pilots, and passengers onboard the concerned flight, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said those who accompanied Governor Wike usurped the authority of the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sirika said Carverton was issued the necessary approvals to fly, adding that the aviation sector was on the exclusive list.
