Xenophobia: Angry Protesters Burn Tyres After Being Restricted By Police

Angry protesters went violent on Tuesday as they burnt tires on the street of Abuja over xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa when they were restricted by the Police at the entrance of Shoprite at Jabi Mall Abuja.

The Police had already station at the venue to prevent the protesters from attacking the South African owned firm located.

It was gathered that the angry protesters went wild as they burnt tyres on the airport road in Abuja and harassed commuters, daring the police to fire at them.

The Police has reinforced by bringing more policemen to the scene, as well as the federal fire service.

Despite the reinforcement by security agencies, the angry youths smatched the windscreen of the Police vehicles and later relocated to the Federal Housing junction after being demobilised at Shoprite bus-stop.
