Xenophobia: Ezekwesili Reveals Her Mission in South Africa

Former Education minister, Oby Eekwesili has said that she is South Africa for the World Economic Forum (WEF) holding in South Africa to ensure that the federal government performed it responsibility,m one of which is the protection of lives and properties.
The presidency after opting out of the summit due to renewed attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa had said that the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria in the February 2019 General Election, said she is going on her own, not to speak for Nigeria.
Responding to criticisms trailing her participation at the ongoing event, the co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) Advocacy group said that she was at the event to ensure that authorities of the southern African country never again look away while Nigerians are attacked, maimed and killed.

The incidents have been greeted with public anger and subsequent protests with the Federal Government recalling the nation’s High Commissioner to South Africa.
The three-day event commenced on September 4th and will end on the 6th.
Responding to the criticism of her move to the country via her verified Twitter handle, Ezekwesili said her life vision remains clear to stand for the weak.
“My life vision is to always stand for the weaker. This is a role I play within and without Nigeria.
“For me, the next three days in South Africa are programmed to achieve a set of specific action by the South African Government.
“Our citizens’ preservation is what matters to me, not the noise,” she wrote.
She further stated that those politicising issue can continue with their usual behavior.

“I am in South Africa leveraging my ensure (sic) that the South African Government never again looks away while our citizens are attacked, maimed and killed.
“Those of you who take delight in making ‘politics’ of our citizens’ lives can carry on with your usual trade.
“I stand strong on doing the things one can do to safeguard lives. Citizens’ lives are too sacred and important for me to be drawn into your latest ‘playground.’ Never.”
