Zamfara First Lady set to Tackle Begging and Promote Girl Child Education

– Zamfara State First Lady Aisha Matawalle has disclosed that she would use her post to tackle street begging and girl child education in the state

– She hinted that she would use her office to empower women in the state

According to a latest statement released by the wife to the Governor of Zamfara State, Aisha Matawalle, she disclosed that she is set to use her post to reduce the rate of begging by women especially in the state.

Mrs. Aisha Matawalle made this known yesterday at Gusau in state capital city while speaking on her pet project which centers on girl child education.

She disclosed that she would work with her husband to create empowerment programmes for women in the state.

Her Excellency wife to the governor of Zamfara Hajia Aisha Matawalle, also hinted that her husband has declared free health service for women and free education for children in the state.

Mrs. Aisha Matawalle stated that with these in place the rate of begging will reduce in Zamfara.

She said, “I will ensure that my office as the first lady of the state works closely with that of my husband’s, the executive governor so that we can find ways of empowering the women.
The measure will surely bring the barest minimum the number of female street beggers, and it will also boost school enrollment among young girls since the parent will be supported,” she said. Aisha said that she had a blue print under the girl child project that would encourage The girls to go to school.

“Happily, my husband has already declared free education and health care services for women and children, and I believe this is the right step in the right direction in saving our women folk, especially the rural dwellers.”
