Ziyech Agrees Five-Year Deal At Chelsea

Ajax midfielder, Hakim Ziyech has finally agreed a five-year deal with West London side, Chelsea ahead of a £33.5million move to Stamford Bridge. The Moroccans impending move to Chelsea was announced earlier in the month with the Morocco International set to move to West London in the summer. Before then, the 26-year-old would continue in the Eredevise with Dutch giants, Ajax.

“I am delighted and proud to have signed for such a huge club as Chelsea,” Ziyech told the club’s official website. “I am looking forward to next season and hope we can achieve great things together.”

The Blues director, Marina Granovskaia spoke of her excitement over signing over Ziyech on a long term deal. She added:

“We are delighted Hakim will be joining us in the summer, having been a key target of the club’s in this last window.

“He has consistently been one of the most dangerous attacking players in Europe in recent years, which we saw first-hand in our two games against Ajax in the Champions League.

“We wish Hakim and Ajax all the best for the rest of the season and look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.”

The attacking midfielder who won a treble last term has the Eredivise assist charts for three seasons on the trot, proving to be a very important resource in the final third.

He currently tops the assist charts in the Champions League this term with 4 assists in spite of Ajax’s exit from the competition at group stage level.

His impressive performances enroute the UCL semifinals saw him being named as a part of the squad of the season. He’s one of only five Ajax players who made that list.

Internationally, he was a part of the Morocco team that made it to the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 African Cup of Nations with his performances electing him to be a part of the CAF Team of the Year.
