- Omokri advises lawmaker to attend anger management classes.
- Calls for outright cancellation of Ruga settlement policy.
Reno Omokri, a former media aide of former president Goodluck Jonathan has told the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to learn from what has happened to the lawmaker representing Adamawa North senatorial district, Elisha Abbo who assaulted a nursing mother at a sex toy shop in Abuja.
Omokri, a staunch critic of the president Muhammdu Buhari led-administration alleged that Senate Deputy President, Ovie Omo-Agege assaulted his colleagues, stole the mace and he was rewarded with the office in the 9th National Assembly.
“Omo Agege was accused of physically assaulting his colleagues and stealing the mace. The Nigerian President and APC rewarded him with the Deputy Senate President.
Abbo was similarly accused and PDP condemned him and disciplined him APC should learn from PDP on Abbo,” he said.
He further said that the Adamawa lawmaker’s apology wasn’t enough, urging him to attend anger management classes.
“Elisha Abbo has reached out to me and promised to apologise to the lady in question and all Nigerians in general. It is NOT ENOUGH. But it is a beginning. He has also promised that he will make amends and also abide by whatever the law provides.
“his apology is NOT ENOUGH. But it is an important step. I will hold him to his promise to make amends to the lady in question and to attend anger management classes. What he did is UNACCEPTABLE. But I am glad that he had fessed up and manned up.”
Speaking on the Rugar farm settlement plan which has been suspended by the federal government, Omokri lauded the president but called for its outright cancellation.
“I hereby COMMEND General Buhari for listening to the voice of Nigerians. But it is not enough to SUSPEND RUGA. You MUST CANCEL RUGA”
