The Commissioner of Police in Edo State identified as Hakeem Odumosun has further disclosed that the policeman killed by unknown gunmen in Benin in the night of Saturday was a member of a secret cult which is currently unidentified.
Recall that iDONSABI had earlier reported that the police officer of the Edo State Local Government identified as Oisa Monday Ehigie and the orderly to the Chairman of Ikpoba-Okha local government area known to be Dr. Eric Osayande, was shot dead along the Normayo / Sakponba road in Benin City on Saturday night.
It was also stated the killing of Sergeant Oisa Monday Ehigie may not be unconnected with the recent activities and incidents which has killed several people in the city.
The Commissioner of Police in Edo state, Hakeem Odumosun, stated that two other persons were killed in the shootout that claimed the life of the police officer.
According to the commissioner of Police in Edo state, Hakeem Odumosun, the late policeman died while he was fighting on the side of his cult group against rival cult group in the state.
Hakeem Odumosun, the commissioner of Police in Edo state stated that three people were confirmed dead in the fight between the two cult groups which also had the Late Sergeant Oisa Monday Ehigie involved in.
In addition, the commissioner of Police in Edo state confirmed that he had visited the family of the Late policeman and they made it clear to him that he was a cultist.
However, Hakeem Odumosun has said that there have been arrests which have been made in connection with the death of Late Sergeant Oisa Monday Ehigie and several guns have been recovered during the arrests.
Further investigations will still be carried out to find out the other cult groups that were also among the fight in order to bring them to face justice.
