– The Board will be in charge of development of states in the North Eastern part of the country

According to a latest report, the Pres. Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government has today inaugurated the Board of the North East Development Commission.

The Board according to the rules establishing it will be in charge of receiving and managing funds allocated by the Federal Government and international donors for the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration and reconstruction in the North Eastern Part of the country.

Also the Board will be in charge of tackling tackling the menace of poverty, illiteracy, ecological problems and any other related environmental or developmental challenges in the North East.

The six states under the care of the board include Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe.

Also, a report made it known that the Federal Executive Council FEC will meet today following the arrival of Pres. Buhari on Sunday.

President Muhammadau Buhari has just inaugurated the Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The Federal Executive Council (FEC) Meeting is set to commence.

The North-East Development Commission is charged with the responsibility of, among other things, receiving and managing funds allocated by Aso Rock and international donors for the resettlement, rehabilitation, integration and reconstruction of roads, houses & business premises of victims of insurgency & terrorism as well as tackling the menace of poverty, illiteracy, ecological problems & any other related environmental or developmental challenges in the North East states: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe.”
This latest move from Pres. Buhari comes after the FG gave financial autonomy to the Local Government areas which will take off from June 1.
