Sub-committee on First Lady’s activities reveals plans for June 12 Democracy Day Celebration

– The Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released some programmes that will be hosted by Mrs. Aisha Buhari to mark the June 12 Democracy Day Celebration

Following the decision of the Federal Government to shift Democracy Day from May 29th to June 12th, this year will make it the first time the celebration will be held on the new date.

Also report, from the Presidency made it known that the swearing in of President Muhammadu Buhari only took place on May 29th, it however disclosed that major event of the President’s inauguration will take place on the 12th of June.

And the latest report via the Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism have made it known that preparations are underway to make the celebration eventful.

The Ministry in it statement revealed that the First Lady of the country, Mrs. Aisha Buhari will host some programmes to mark the celebration of June 12 Democracy Day.

A report made it known that the programmes include Secondary School Exhibition/ Panel Discussion and Oratorical Contest which will take place on Monday 10th of June.

Below is an extract of the statement released via the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, it read,
The Sub-Committee on First Lady’s Activities for the June 12, #2019DemocracyDay Celebration hereby announces the Programmes to be hosted by Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, Wife of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria to mark the occasion:

Secondary School Exhibition/ Panel Discussion and Oratorical Contest. Date: Monday 10th June, 2019 Venue: International Conference Centre, Abuja Time: 10am

These Programmes are strictly on invitation!! Announcer: Hajia Mariya A. D. Rufai Secretary Sub-Committee on First Lady’s Activities for June 12, 2019 Democracy Day Celebration.

In another statement, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Tourism have also urged journalists interested in covering the June 12 Democracy Day Celebration to register for accreditation.

The statement read, ”Please journalists to cover the June 12 Democracy Day Celebration are to send their names and organizations to: joemutah.frcn@gmail.com for accreditation. The collation of names is open from 6th to 9th June, 2019. Thanks.”
