Former United States Vice President, Joe Biden has been accused of sexual assault by a former State of Nevada Assembly woman, Lucy Flores.
The woman’s claim was published in a New York magazine, The Cut. Lucy Flores who is a Democrat said she was 31 at the time of the assault.
She wrote that she had invited the then Vice President Joe Biden to help her campaign for the office of Lieutenant Governor of Nevada.
Flores wrote that at first, she had been “grateful and flattered” but as she was preparing to take the stage, she said, she “felt two hands on my shoulders” and “froze.”
Why is the vice-president of the United States touching me? she recalled wondering.
In her words:
I felt him get closer to me from behind. He leaned further in and inhaled my hair. I was mortified.
He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked. I was confused.
Joe Biden who reacted to the allegation says he doesn’t recall planting an “awkward kiss” on the back of the head of Lucy Flores.
He also stated that neither him nor his staff had any idea she felt uncomfortable at the time.
